About the Role
As Centre Director, you'll take ownership of the overall operation and performance of the centre. You'll lead your team, build strong relationships with families, maintain high standards of education and care, and ensure the service remains compliant with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
You'll have the autonomy to make meaningful decisions while working alongside a supportive leadership team invested in your success.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead, inspire and support a team of educators to create a positive, collaborative and professional culture.
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the centre, including staffing, compliance, quality improvement and financial performance.
Develop strategies to improve occupancy, enrolments and overall centre performance.
Monitor utilisation and proactively address vacancies and enrolment opportunities.
Build strong and genuine relationships with children, families, educators and the wider community.
Ensure the centre consistently meets the requirements of the National Quality Framework (NQF), NQS, EYLF and relevant legislation.
Lead the development and ongoing implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan.
Support the Educational Leader and team to deliver high-quality, play-based educational programs.
Coach, mentor and develop educators through ongoing feedback, professional development and performance support.
Promote a strong culture of child safety, wellbeing, inclusion and respect.
Maintain effective staffing arrangements, qualifications and educator-to-child ratios.
Oversee policies, procedures, documentation and compliance requirements.
Monitor financial performance and contribute to budgeting and business planning.
Work collaboratively with the leadership team to achieve centre and organisational goals.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced early childhood leader who is confident taking ownership, building relationships and leading a team.
You'll ideally have:
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an approved Early Childhood Education degree.
At least 3 years' leadership experience within an early childhood service.
Previous experience managing and developing a team of 8+ educators/staff.
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, NQS, EYLF and relevant legislation.
Experience with centre administration, curriculum, compliance, staff development and family engagement.
A current Working with Children Check.
Current First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training.
Child Protection training.
Strong understanding of child safety, wellbeing and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
Sound financial, administrative and occupancy management skills.
Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
The ability to coach, mentor and inspire educators.
